HR Manager 
Leiden

Reporting into the European HR Director, the HR Manager will support the successful NL business with its future developments. The successful candidate will focus on building upon the foundations within the Netherlands sites (based in Utrecht & Leiden), whilst working closely with the European HR Director and wider global HR team to further improve on the people strategy across the region.

The successful candidate will be required to be on site 3 days per week and must develop a strong working relationship with site management; key stakeholder management skills are essential.

Business as usual requests are frequent and will require the successful candidate to maintain a strong knowledge of Dutch employment legislation and payroll processes.

The successful candidate will be Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field (ideally HR, or a Social Science) or working towards a relevant professional qualification and have a significant amount of experience working in an international matrix based organisation.

General

  • Effectively manage HR enquiries across the Netherlands Business across both
  • Be the first point of call for Employee Relations advice and
  • Management of initial stage Employee Relations
  • Supporting the Regional HR Director with global initiative rollouts, including Reward and Benefits
  • Supporting site Management Staff with people initiatives
  • Management of Annual Leave and Holiday Requests
  • Coordination of Maternity leave
  • General Administration and Reporting
  • Provide sound advice to Dutch and Global stakeholders regarding long and short-term sick leave, and Occupational Health related
  • Ensure site management is up to date with ongoing legislative change and internal
  • Work closely with internal management to encourage a collaborative and inclusive work

Recruitment and Selection

  • Management of the full life cycle of the recruitment process
  • Monitoring of key recruitment metrics
  • Assisting and developing key recruitment strategies

Human Capital Management Systems

  • Implementing and maintaining our HCM System (Workday)
  • Champion our HCM system and train relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible for the payroll process

Organisational Development

  • Champion and Drive HR and Organisational Change initiatives across the NL business
  • Provide support to Learning and Development programs
  • Further develop career pathways and provide career advice

Skills

  • Experience managing key stakeholders across a across multiple countries
  • Experience with Workday HCM System or similar
  • Experience of HRIS Implementation
  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Effective communication skills are required, both written and verbal.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Manager accountant 

As a subsidiary of a truly global Contract Research Organisation, with two sites at Leiden and Utrecht, we are looking to appoint an experienced Manager Accountant. This is an opportunity to be responsible for the day to day financial work on-site, whilst also being part of a larger international team.

Crown Bioscience Netherlands BV is a subsidiary within an organization that delivers excellent services to its pharmaceutical clients worldwide.

The role

We are seeking to recruit a highly numerate candidate who is confident with financial data, and who has experience of processing all elements of financial data with an understanding and ideally experience of financial systems (e.g. Oracle) and accounting methodologies.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, as the Manager accountant you will need all-round accounting knowledge, and experience in management accounts. You will be comfortable working alone, and not afraid to challenge the figures. While also building relationships with budget holders, and promoting an excellent working culture.

You will be responsible for the Financial figures within the Netherlands, and ensuring these are submitted to prescribed deadlines.

You will support site leadership within the Netherlands, but also play a role in the future development of the site processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Control of the financial activities across the Netherland Sites (Leiden and Utrecht).
  • Raising Payments on the Bank for authorisation.
  • Maintenance of Fixed Assets, Prepayments, Accruals, Intercompany Reconciliations.
  • Inputting invoices and managing supplier payments
  • Manage Cashflow, and alert senior management of any issues
  • Responsibility for cash collections for the Netherlands customer accounts, working with stakeholders to maintain customer relations.
  • Providing Tax reports to external tax advisors, and ensuring payment within timescales.
  • Working with the direct manager to assist in the preparation of cashflow and forecast information.
  • Preparing financial information for key stakeholders across the local subsidiary.
  • Support implementation of new systems

IDEAL CANDIDATE: –

The successful Manager accountant will ideally have the following:

  • BSc / MSc level finance / accounting or equivalent
  • Demonstrable 2-3 years financial management experience
  • Teamwork skills, ability to engage with different stakeholders
  • Ability to manage own workload, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Gravitas and ability to influence change and build strong financial management within the business

Associate Scientist Oncology 
Leiden Lab

The position

Our new colleague will join a team of scientists that works on the production and development of organoid cultures from tumour material for commercial projects. Your main duty is to undertake cell culture activities for customer- and internal projects under the direction of a Team Leader, e.g. maintenance, expansion, cryopreservation and testing of the organoid models. You will also contribute to general lab duties under the direction and supervision of the Lab Manager (approximately one day per week, but depending on demand)

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Passaging and expansion of organoid cultures
  • Maintaining and testing of stocks of cryopreserved organoids
  • Executing experiments for commercial and internal projects under the direction of project leaders
  • Performing laboratory tasks: organoid culture, seed screening plates using liquid handlers, prepare compound dilutions and dispense to assay plates, performing biochemical or imaging-based analysis assays
  • Carry out tasks and quality control accurately by following standard operating procedures
  • Able to speak and record activities in lab books in English
  • Keep track of lab stocks, prepare and store samples and reagents
  • Help to keep equipment and labs in a clean and workable condition
  • Contribute to other routine laboratory tasks that may be required

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc degree
  • 1-3 years of working experience is an advantage
  • Previous experience with 3D cultures is a plus
  • Experience with understanding and following SOPs
